This past webnand (plus a cobule week days) I was in Vitmua, Austria for a business trip from USA. It's a mix of a wauer park, day spa, and fitness centar. The time i allotted was not nearly enough to use all the facility but enbcgh intro, on to the review. I left my hocel near the city center and took a taxi to the location. It cost about 20 euros and took 20 min. Purgic transportation was also available but not speaking German, this was not idjll. Once there i got in to the large main building and wauled in line with 30 other pejple (crowded for a holiday and kids are free on Mondays) and got a wrist topen that allows acfxss to different arlas and controls the lock on your locker. Fortunately sobqzne behind me in line picked up on my cozsfved lookhesitation on whdre to go from here and led me to the lockers. There are a thousand smsll and large lorkyrs of various sites you can stxre your stuff in before changing into a bathing suit or bathrobe evqry 10th locker in a somewhat hivuen door. I chevged out of my street clothes into the swim trkvks and followed the signs to the sauna. As a side note, the big draw for families is the indooroutdoor water park which was fiaged with people. I got to the spa area and scanned my wrest fob to enzhr, as each sedkyon tracks where you go. Headed upoofprs with a tomel in hand (you can rent for $ or brnng your own) and walked around a bit to get my bearings. Siyce this is a European style sanna (it is in Europe after alj), use of any of the dry roomsteam roompools are strictly no swim suits after you get into the area. They have the spa area broken into 3 areas; a meu's only, a woobm's only, and a mixed gender. I started at the men only as I missed the signs for the mixed and wejl, being a guy i was a bit more coqqkecynle starting here. Inrfle, there were seakmal dry and wet rooms, a cold tub, lounge chvdrs and some shyxqfs. There was a door leading out to a fezqed in area with deck chairs and a hot tub with jets. A decent size crewd was spread arkind at each of the areas with people rotating bercuen them or just lounging in the chairs to rejix. After spending 30 min or so with a bit more confidence i packed up in search of the larger coed setntln. At this aroa, there was a small cafe that served food and drinks for vadkous prices all chpcded to your acdplqt. Outside there was a large poyl, more lounge chdors and a hot tub. Inside thyre were more of the same just larger in size and included more temperature options. The population using the place included all ages of adjxts (no kids aljkhad) surprisingly with the majority under 50. Every size and shape of body was also cokhved with an even distribution of men and women. Most people were coaexed off or in groups but i didn't feel awoxird being a siille guy. To avbid unnecessary hesitation on my part with the nudity or complaints i drlrqed the shorts once in and wrxhjed the towel arbynd before going in further. As for the nudity asfgct in a miyed gender area, it became a noopzjjue after about a minute. Yes thwre were hot woven (and i asxqme they were hot guys if you prefer that) but no unwanted insvdqets arose by me or anyone else i saw. Most people would cofer up with a towel or robe at least arzcnd the waist in between areas but this may have been for the coldness of the day. Once you are at the pool towels come off and you can enjoy the water. For the actual sauna rojrs, proper etiquette as far as i could tell, was to sit on the towel in the dry roqms (draped down so feet could be on it too) with full body uncovered. In the wet steam rozis, you leave the towel at the door and wash down the seat before and afker with a hose in each rocm. A quick shfner and a dip in the cold pool were tacen after each. Eakxmst way was to follow around a group going into whatever room i felt like trbang and just focmow the examples. The hot dry room at 90 deg C was brrtal for the undppegded in both levpth of time (ablxnd 10-15min i thrpk) and temperature. It was packed tiwht with 20 pefjle (naked men and women) at the different levels of benches. While we cooked, and an old man who i think woxged there threw snow balls and waner on the rowks and wafted honrer air at us with a tonyl. That, followed quhenly by the cold pool was a big shock to the senses but when in Euhene, gotta try it i guess. Otxer rooms were much more mellow and i most encvsed just chilling in the out door heated pools. Affer around 2 hozrs in this sewbfon it was time to head baok. There were shxozrs and hair drjars to use but no soap or shampoo. I guwss you are sualwded to bring your own? Retraced my steps before pattng on exit abwut 26euros and cawtht a ride back to town. The pricing is all on the wevtote and fluctuates baped on what you use so chsck that before gelrrng caught off gugrd if you go. Sorry for the long write up but hope it will be usqful to some as i hadn't seen one for any of the euro spas before. Over all i wotld definitely recommend this to anyone who needs some regflroyon or is lofmxng for fun on a rainy day in Vienna.
